Hiya VEEP! (Very Excellent Exquisite Person.)
Last year a sort of fable-like story came out of me starring a half bird, half girl. I never gave much thought to writing a children’s book or becoming an illustrator but I’ve always loved kid’s books and the illustrations. (I never grew out of it or any such thing. I still buy them for myself! Come to think of it, I’m not so big on “growing out of things” in general.) Anyhow, I think many of these books have wonderful reminders in them for us all and are often filled with a lot of love, humor and art.
I love drawing and writing, and this particular combo platter of the two led me to the picture book, Brightness the Bird Girl. (I also made a doll version who will travel with us to Italy and Greece (next week!) and I will record her adventures.)

How long will Brightness the Bird Girl be in my life? Will there be follow-up books? An animated series? A movie? There’s a constant flow of shiny objects in my eye line and as an ADHD creator, I can say with 100% certainty that I have no flippin’ idea when or what the next one will be or how long the current one will last. 😆😆😆 But for now, Brightness wanted her story told, and she chose me to tell it, so here ya go.
I do hope you get a copy for a kiddie and/or for the kiddie that is YOU. It’s a hardcover picture book about the power of the mind, self-love and appreciation and it would make a lovely gift.
